Animals
CONTENT:
1) Animals Classification
2) Animals Habitat
OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:
1. Demonstrate knowledge of the characteristics of the most common animal groups.
2. Identify animals within a specific animal group.
3. Distinguish between the six most common groups of animals.
4. Associate animals with their respective homes.
PRESENTATIONS:
Induction (5 minutes)
- Teacher invites pupils to come into the computer lab and tells them to sit on the floor.
- Teacher recaps previous lesson on animals and animals’ classification.
Lesson Development (10 minutes)
1] Teacher tells pupils to take out a piece of paper and write down 3 of their favourite animals, listing the classification, and where the animals live.
2] Teacher announces that this week they will do very interesting and fun activities.
Reinforcement (40 minutes)
3] Teacher tells pupils to stand up, pair up and walk quietly to their seats (as assigned since the first week)
4] Teacher explains and displays the virtual activities that the pupils are about to do and complete.
5] Teacher then tells pupils to start doing the activities prepared as teacher walks around to see if pupils need more assistance.
Virtual Activities:
a] Name Animals one by one.
b] Group animals based on their habitat.
c] Knock, knock. Who lives here? (Hear the sound and who lives inside?)
d) Draw a line to match animals and their homes
The pupils are to complete the virtual exercises in pairs.
Closure (5 minutes)
Recap the lesson by asking the pupils to answer oral questions.
